I love to talk about plants! Especially the ones that grow as wild volunteers offering their edible and medicinal benefits to all who come near. If you’ve walked outside with me, it’s very likely I have pointed out a plant or two or even many, as volunteer plant blessings.
It feels normal to me to take time to explain how to find, harvest, preserve, store, and use what our plant friends offer. And it’s common to be asked if I have that in writing to help with remembering later or for sharing.
I try to write and share online as much as I have time, but writing isn’t paying my bills (yet) and social media posts can be very segmented and lose continuity and show up out of order. A book is a super way to put it all together in one spot. I have been talking about it for years, but life has it’s own timeframe.
Now seems like a perfect time to provide a resource that is rooted in reality and experience.
Why? Because recently many books are being exposed as written with AI in both the words and the pictures. Even some of the currently very popular herbal and apothecary books are getting reviews saying they are mostly AI written! And they have AI’s inherent errors that novices may not realize until those AI errors create real life problems. The huge sales these AI based books get are driven by clever marketing and paid influencers not from accurate content.
Should AI Bots get treated as equal to Real Life Experienced Teachers?
AI Errors, Data Centers, Copyright issues, and the debate over if AI is, or will get out of control, it’s a HOT TOPIC in many circles right now. But does it matter?
LET’S CHAT FOR A COUPLE MINUTES.
I admit that I am often annoyed with AI faked images dressed up fancy, yet filled with vague, wrong, and incomplete details.
AI images are getting harder to spot, and the printed information they create is often mixed up, factually wrong, unverified, and delivered by newbie influencers who lack enough real experience to notice the errors.
When these low-level experience influencers use AI as their substitute for experience-based wisdom, genuine research, and real facts, the flood of misinformation comes at us faster and with more sparkly enthusiasm but not more value and definitely not more accuracy. The concern is for the learners who believe the AI facts as truth! Where are we headed?
I find “just keep scrolling” is my new motto to keep me from replying to posts made by influencers who are busy acting like experts but promoting incorrect “advice” to the admitted novices.
Then WHY scroll? Because keyboard wars serve no one.
Keyboard warriors tend to aggressively defend their right to act like experts, even when they don’t have the actual lived experience to back it up. It’s part of the humanity of life. The “pied piper” doesn’t sell success, he sells melody, fun vibes, cool looks & peer acceptance. And followers will always follow. Social media is built as a place for pied pipers to thrive….

I CHOOSE YOU
Instead of retreating to my workshop to do my own thing for family and close friends, and instead of typing fact-based explanations to those keyboard warriors who aren’t seeking info beyond their own opinions anyway,

We as a culture, do not have to rely on AI & newbie influencers or big corp profiteers pushing big profit pharma!
Willing, experienced teachers who understand the value of body harmony, natural healing, nature’s God, and your innate ability to be well, really do exist! That is, if we don’t let AI dominate over them and mute them like the “witch hunts” of the 1600s. (if you don’t know that it was natural healers they were after not witches, and it was promoted by big power and money, you might enjoy reading some unfiltered history - or ask me later)
GENERATIONAL KNOWLEDGE
For many years, I have taught in-person classes, & one-to-one coaching, to people asking to learn about topics I have actually lived. Topics related to natural health, the holistic lifestyle, homestead living, herb harvesting, herb preserving, creating natural skin care, essential oil use, and other related topics.
I was teaching home survival skills to desperate adults in the late 90s when the Y2K panic was in full swing (almost 30 years ago). They asked me to teach because I was already living the lifestyle they feared they’d have to live if the power went off on 01/01/00.
I learned skills firsthand from my Mom, GrandMom, Great GrandMom, who had each lived on farms for most of their lives.
My love for natural living goes generations deep. I have met and learned from 3 generations of family before me who all lived a homestead farming lifestyle. I know I benefit from the knowledge they received from the generations before them that I didn’t know. My children have been raised in that style their entire lives. Their lives and their firsthand experiences are different because of that heritage.
Sparkly influencers teaching these topics using AI and without the benefit of real lived experiences and heritage simply isn’t the same.
I realize some feel more comfortable with those peer-aged influencers. I also admit that AI does have a place in our culture’s information stream. However, I am also keenly aware that there are people like you, who have a desire to learn based on wisdom that only real-life experience can bring.
I believe you truly seek that.
Why? Because you have told me. The number of times I have been told “you should write a book” in the past 30 years is unrecorded, but it’s a high number.
Life has seasons. During that class teaching season, I was raising children on a working farm, selling farm products to pay the bills, and doing classes as hosts made requests. The 2020 culture largely quelled those requests and significantly slowed sales. For a brief almost 3 years, I had a rented Main Street studio with a classroom and time to do events, classes, and demonstrations. That door closed abruptly in Oct 2025 as the studio I rented became physically unrentable, and we had to move out.
2026 - a new life season. “Looks like it’s time to write books”, and to do more coaching that’s encouraging and holistic in a restore & recovery with encouragement style.
