Please take a few quick minutes to read and reply asap. Our culture has changed so much since March of 2020 when the world got turned upside down. We are all settling into a new normal that's not the same as it was before. We would really appreciate your opinion and participation as we adapt our process to this post 2020 culture.

In the past 6 months, I have learned a lot about communication methods that I didn't know I needed to know. I have tried to communicate with you in a group email style like I did for many years. But it has been one shenanigan after another as I have learned about the changes that have been implemented in the email system since 2020. Email delivery systems, blacklisting, whitelisting, sending multiple email addresses at once is handled a LOT differently now.

I used to just send BCC emails to you from my main email inbox, in groups of 25 to 50 addresses at a time. Sending multiple emails like that in the same day was simply no problem.

Well, when everybody stayed home and bought everything online and everybody wanted to get everybody to do stuff via email and internet, a lot of things changed really quickly. I didn't understand all that stuff, and I simply tried to start our usual bulk order the usual way and got hit with communication and delivery problems in rapid succession. Everything I used to do doesn't work anymore. I went from BCC to a variety of subscription based list servers and CMS programs only to eventually figure out the hard way (after a LOT of time and fees invested), what blacklisting really means. Basically it means I can't send to more than a few emails at a time from any email program per day regardless of their subscription promises! After much time, effort and fee to communicate to this group, finally I thought I had succeeded. And then I would talk to somebody that I had on my list that I knew I had sent several emails to, who would confidently tell me that they hadn't received anything from me in months! Mic drop. This happened several times. Regardless of the promises by the various subscription fee-based services I tried. Welcome to Blacklisting for people who bulk email in bursts only occasionally. It seems that promises the services make are based in rules that don’t conform to our bulk order frequency. Blacklisted as spam.

This is why I am contacting you this way. This method seems to be the best way to get past all of the problems and move into a new style of communication.

Substack offers something that nobody else seems to do the same way. They offer a website, a blog level communication ability that allows for information and pictures and links, and their service includes email options in a way that I have not yet seen.

I stand confident that this new style will work and take me back to the ability of writing one email and posting it and sending it and you actually receiving it!!!

On top of that there are a multitude of new benefits that I can offer and that is truly awesome!

Many of you have said over the years as we've interacted and I've encouraged, counseled, given health advice, animal advice, herb advice, or otherwise assisted, The repetitive answer was that I should write this stuff all down for easy reference to you and share-ability. This is my attempt to do that too.

Yes indeed life has been crazy for everyone in the last 3 years.

My life has been utterly crazy for much more than 3 years. It's a number more like 10, 12, or 18 or a lot more, depending on when you want to start counting. But the last two years has been a lot. And this learning curve in the last 6 months trying to make an oil order happen has been definitely an interesting (read frustrating) learning experience. Which was coupled with a whole bunch of life shenanigans. Like watching my oldest kid go through two really major surgeries and a significant level of health issues then move across the country. Along with some dramatic relationship issues, several car issues, including totaling one vehicle with a deer, moving my office space 20 miles, house issues like doing a major plumbing change that turned into a whole unplanned bathroom remodel/repair, ramping up farm chores from eight livestock animals to over 40, while trying to settle into a new classroom accommodating space, re-growing a business income, with frequent recurring shoulder issues, and a lot more, which all appear to be calming down at the moment.

My Hope is that this new website will solve a large amount of the communication problems and get things back on track to being able to communicate easily and efficiently with you! And open up opportunities some long desired projects!

I'm SO THANKFUL for those of you who have patiently endured, while communication has been so difficult.

Prior to these challenges I was regularly engaging with people on three significantly different levels. A Cooperative Buying Club membership level, a wholesale selling level and a friend to friend farm products retail level. Some of you have been only one of those things and others of you have been two or all three. Thank You.

These past few months have brought on a level of realization about what the culture shift has done to the cooperative buying model. It has a new look. But my connection with you can adapt and grow if you help me help you!

When I started trying to coordinate a bulk order last fall and tried to connect with the buying clubs, food co-ops, and cooperative groups, that had always participated for more than the last decade, I didn't get the same response as usual. Some of them are dissolved, some of them are drastically smaller, and none of them participated in any fashion like they had in the past. This means adaptation is required again!

Some of you have been in those groups and you have found your way back and you are still enthusiastic to work together with me in acquiring the things that you have previously appreciated. You are awesome!

However some of the groups had coordinators that were maintaining their membership list and that list has not been shared with me so I have no way to get in contact with those people unless you share this information with people that you know who have previously participated or that you think might be interested even if they haven't participated before.

At this point with the less organized co-ops and the difficulties I have had with communication up to now, we are at a point where we have to rally together and make big things happen or decide that cooperative buying is a casualty of the change in culture. My efforts to do this alone have been obviously not successful enough, as the plans have not happened as anticipated in the last 6 months. A cooperative buy does need a cooperating cluster of enthusiastic people! I just didn’t have a way paved to rally ya’ll till now! So I am Plastering this link in every media fashion that I can muster without a lot of information that could hit spam filters and I am just asking everyone to check in to this website and read it here.

This website is set up in a way that it can allow people who appreciate the efforts that I have done in the past, and will do in the future, who would like to make a small contribution towards that appreciation and support in a level of your choosing.

But you can also read this and many of the other posts on this site for free! I ask simply that you do the email replies as requested in order to help reduce the spam filter issues.

This site is not yet as filled out or filled in as I plan for it to be, but if you look around, you’ll find some interesting things, I hope. Please know there’s lots more to come!
